My 14-year-old daughter, Noam, underwent a simple, short medical procedure at Mayanei Hayeshua’s day care division today.
We were greeted warmly. Throughout our wait for her turn, the staff was pleasant and professional. Every part of the procedure was explained to her. When the nurse heard my daughter’s concern that the procedure might compromise her modesty, she made sure to get her an escort who reassured her that she will remain with her as long as necessary. In addition, an art therapist came and devoted her time to talk about dealing with fear through creativity. She gave us Sudoku, mandalas and more. The operating room team was also warm, professional and empathetic, from the surgeon to the orderly.
As a mother and a nurse in my profession, I am full of admiration for the hospital staff.
Thanks to you, my daughter had a very positive experience undergoing the procedure.
Please give our thanks to Dr. Orkin, Dr. Katzir, nurses David Sulimani, Tova, and Frieda, Masha the art therapist, Yehudit the volunteer escort, the nurse Efrat, Sa’ar – and these are just the names I remember. Our thanks also to the rest of the team whose names I did not see.
Keep up your dedicated work!
