A lecture to Hatzala volunteers in Toronto.
As part of Toronto’s Mayanei Hayeshua Awareness Week, Prof. Strous gave a speech to Hatzoloh volunteers in Toronto.
40 first responders participated in a valuable training session with Professor Strous on how to deal with psychiatric emergencies. This training followed on the professor’s recent visits to Johannesburg and Melbourne where he trained Hatzoloh first responders, paramedics and help-line telephonists in handling cases of self-harm, suicide and anorexia.
Within the framework of their duties, the first responders encounter from time to time with patients whose condition is bordered with mental problems. This is why it is important this life-savers should learn this topic and know how to react in such cases.
